She had a beautiful smile, bright eyes and contagious laughter. There is one exception to Angel being like other little girls. She has no memory of her life before she woke up in an alley in the village of Luimneach, Ireland covered in blood and laying next to a dead woman. Not knowing what had happened or even her own name Angel stumbled through the streets of Luimneach searching for someone who may know who she was. Everyone seemed absolutely stunned by her appearance and no one would speak to her. Except for Lady Anna, daughter to the Earl of Mumhain. Lady Anna took Angel back to her home, cleaned her up, fed her, and gave her a name. For months and years to come Lady Anna became the mother Angel could not remember and worked tirelessly, without success, to find out Angel’s true identity. As Angel got older she felt as though she was changing mentally and physically. She began to feel as though she was destined to help those in need of protection from the world around them. One morning as she awoke to the rising sun she noticed that her physical appearance had changed dramatically. She had grown a set of beautiful wings overnight. The sight of herself in the mirror frightened her so much she refused to come out of her room. Not knowing what was happening to her, Angel prayed for guidance and understanding. After three days, Angel received a visitor in the middle of the night. Although she was frightened by the man’s appearance at her window she felt as though she could trust him. He introduced himself as Michael. Michael told Angel the reason she had grown wings and about her need to help people. She was half Archangel, half human. Stunned by his confession, Angel had a hard time believing. Michael then went on to explain how this came to be. Angel was born Michaela Gabrielle, daughter to himself (an archangel) and Gabrielle (a human). Michael had fallen in love with Gabrielle but theirs was a forbidden love. Both Michael and Gabrielle knew they must keep the birth of their child a secret. Michael returned to the Kingdom of Heaven while Gabrielle stayed on Earth to raise their child alone. Somehow another human had found out about Angel’s secret and tried to kill both her and her mother. Although Michael knew Angel’s mother was dead, he believed she would be safe until the moment of her change. He had guided Lady Anna to Angel that day in the streets of Luimneach. Michael made Angel promise that her wings must remain hidden and the truth of her birth must be kept a secret. Only to be told or shown to those she trusts with her life. Should her secret become known to all she would be in grave danger. Now that Angel knew her true identity she asked Michael where go to train to become the person she was destined to be. A great warrior to protect the innocent and (unknown to Michael) avenge her mother’s death. Together they traveled to the City of Westland in the realm of the Dark Warriors to begin her training and new life. |
