Disgrace is not at all like Bradbury's or Orwell's books, so don't expect that. Think of it as a series of crappy events in life (in very particular circumstances) and the questions that rise from experiencing that. I'll be honest to you, when I finished it I felt sick and sort of depressed. But Coetzee is a Nobel prize winner, so you are in for a treat.  |
