I could be wrong as it was so long ago and happened just before i joined the game but i think the original purpose was as a payback for gold invested into a previous aspect of the game that no longer exists... so since most of us except the old timers never had this feature, there is no purpose for it now other then the eventual unit of measure you have mentioned... although the 300% increase in the cost of plats over the last few months can also be easily explained away by the simple fact that everyone has been hoarding everything away for the rebuild and that is the only reason the price are staying so high, cause people keep buying em XD |
