| I think you're confusing gothic with emo. Goth is a lifestyle, yes, not just a way of dress. However, to be goth simply means to have an appreciation for the darkness as well as the light, to recognize that there is beauty in dark things and things that most people tend to avoid thinking about. There is even beauty and serenity in death, and because goths discuss these matters as readily as other topics, it is often assumed that they have an "obsession" with them, or that they're constantly depressed or melancholy. This couldn't be further from the truth. |
