You can't 'turn it off', as it's integral laptop hardware, so it will have a power supply constantly, same as the keyboard. You can, however, uninstall the drivers, so that if you issue a command with the PS/2 mouse (the most common name for laptop touchpads), it's unrecognised by the motherboard (as it doesn't have the drivers to recognise the issued commands) and as such goes un-enacted. That's the super geeky explanation of what leper said. |
