As some have said before, this will only decrease use of the markets for trading and, as a consequence, drive prices up - simple market economics. The argument that players are placing items on at inflated prices seems rather weak - rather like the "speed cameras are deployed to save lives rather than to generate revenue". It is common practice to "hide" items on the markets by placing therm on at inflated prices that would never be paid. This stops spying (and prying wives) from detecting the fact that you own them! Over-priced items do NOT cause a problem for the vast majority of players, however a 5% surcharge will. |
